Eco School Initiative

At Eco Montessori, we are excited to share that we are working towards achieving the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag award! For over 25 years, the Eco-Schools programme has been raising environmental awareness among young people across the globe, engaging millions of children in nearly 70 countries. In England, the programme has been run by Keep Britain Tidy since 1994.

We are proud to participate in this programme because we believe teaching our children about the importance of caring for the planet is essential for their future. By taking part in the Eco-Schools programme, we’re creating meaningful, engaging learning opportunities that help nurture environmentally conscious individuals.

Through this initiative, we will raise environmental awareness, improve our learning environment, strengthen our connection with the local community, and even potentially save on costs. More importantly, we aim to equip children with valuable lessons that will guide them towards becoming responsible, eco-aware adults.

The Eco-Schools programme focuses on ten key areas, including Biodiversity, Energy, Healthy Living, Waste, and Water, which we will explore based on your child’s interests. Achieving the Green Flag award typically takes one to two years, and during this time, we will follow the Eco-Schools Seven Step programme, which encourages active participation from children in environmental actions.

We also want to involve our wider community in this journey. If you would like to share your time, skills, or ideas to support our Eco-Schools initiatives, we’d love to hear from you. If you’re unable to commit your time, don’t worry – we will keep you updated on our progress and invite you to join in on specific projects as they arise.

Together, we can help shape a more sustainable future for our children and the planet.
