Why Choose Eco Montessori Day Nursery?

There are many reasons why our parents trust and choose us. Below are just some:

  1. We have 25 years experience caring for young children

We believe that every child is a unique individual, naturally curious and eager to learn about the world around them and our skilful staff will support them to realise their full potential.

Your child’s well-being and development is at the heart of everything we do. We know that children who feel secure and safe are better able to learn and develop.

  1. Two Wonderful Settings (central Winchester & West Tytherley, Salisbury)

Eco Montessori Winchester is only a short walk from the King Alfred statue. It is a Day Care Nursery, which is open 8am-6pm, 51 weeks per year. Eco Montessori Winchester takes children from six months to five years and is split into three rooms, the Bebe room for children aged six months to eighteen months, the Piccolino Room for children aged eighteen months to three and the Bambino Room for children aged three to five. Our other location is based at Surrendon Cottage, Norman Court, West Tyrtherley, Salisbury which is a stunning setting nestled within 45 acres of woodland and countryside

  1. We are an independent family run Nursery

Eco Montessori is an independent family-run nursery, where your child is at the heart of everything we do.

The nursery environment has been carefully curated with your child in mind and their safety is considered first and foremost. Our goal is to provide a stimulating, enriching environment where children feel at home.

  1. We are part of the Eco Schools Programme.

We have decided to participate in the Eco-Schools programme because we value our planet and view environmentalism as an important lesson to teach future generations. Partaking in the Eco-Schools programme also provides rich and engaging learning opportunities for our early years setting.

Not only does the Eco-Schools programme engage young people, it also: raises environmental awareness; improves our learning environment; creates links with our local community and can lead to financial savings. We hope that through participation in the Eco-Schools programme we will be able to teach young people important lessons that will positively influence their behaviour and help them to develop into environmentally aware adults.

  1. We follow the Montessori Method

The Montessori Method encourages independence and freedom with limits and responsibility, which together with dignity are of paramount importance. In the Montessori environment, apart from some group work, children have the freedom to choose their own activities that interests them. The children are free to help themselves to the learning materials displayed on child sized shelves without having to ask for items or wait for the teacher to give permission. They choose the materials they wish to work with and return them to their original place when they are finished. This helps to develop a child’s independence and self-esteem. With this freedom to investigate the world around them, children will become enthusiastic and active learners.

  1. We work closely with you.

We value the knowledge you have about your child and, so we aim to work closely with you. We want to find out about your child from you and share with you our experiences of your child in nursery. Your child will gain the most from their nursery experience and you will feel confident your child is receiving the best possible care and education. We use an app called ‘My Montessori Child’ to ensure that there is good communication and collaboration between home and nursery and also to share photos and observations of your child with you.

  1. Your child will be cared for by our excellent staff team

Our vigorous recruitment process ensures that we hire the best nursery practitioners to care for your children. Our staff are friendly, professional, and experienced in providing high quality care for your child that both you and I expect. However, we don’t just stop there. We also send our staff on regular training to ensure that we our continuously providing the best quality care for your child.

  1. Your little one will benefit from our range of high quality resources

We regularly change and rotate the activities, equipment, arts and crafts and other resources that we have so that your child is constantly inspired through their learning.

  1. Your child will have access to an indoor and outdoor area

Your child will not only enjoy a range of indoor activities, but also have access to a garden area to explore the natural environment.
The ability to explore the outside world is important in aiding your child’s development and helping their understanding of the world.

  1. Your child will be taken on regular trips out

We take our children on regular trips to the local parks and libraries. We also do a weekly trip to Forest School. We feel it is important for the children to experience and explore different environments, developing their understanding of the world.
