Frequently Asked Questions

Yes!  We have spaces available for funded children, including 2 Year Old funding.

Yes we accept this funding at all of our settings.  We only accept it on a stretched basis, ie. it is used over 51 weeks of the year.  This allows you to use 11 hours each week throughout the year.

Children are entitled to 15 free government funded hours from the term following their third birthday. The nursery applies for the funding on your behalf; you will be asked to sign the agreement and supply a copy of your child’s birth certificate, if you have not already done so.  The nursery education funding is 570 hours each year for each child and this is either split in to 38 weeks for the standard offer or 51 weeks of the year for the stretched offer. Details of the calculations are available on request.

We tailor the settling in process individually to address each child’s individual needs and circumstances. Generally, we introduce your child to their assigned Key Person, and create an initial bond. Our approach is flexible and we can discuss various options with you, in order to help us provide smooth a settling in process for everyone.

It is our experience that children who attend nursery for less than three sessions a week struggle with settling at the nursery. They can find it very distressing and confusing understand with the routines. It is best for the child, as well as for the parents and staff, for the child to attend at least three sessions a week to fully embrace and enjoy the nursery experience.

Absolutely! We would love for you to come and have a look around! To book a visit please get in touch!

We offer term time only places at The Lido Nursery

We require one month’s notice in writing when your child leaves. The leave date will be the same date as the notice letter/email but in the following month. So if you give notice on the 1st April, your leave date will be 1st May.

We require one month’s written notice should you wish to reduce your child’s hours of attendance.

Parents need to inform the Nursery Manager as soon as possible if they would like to increase their child’s days at nursery and which days they would prefer to have.  The best way to do this is in writing.

We ask that when your child is sick you do not bring them to nursery – to help prevent the spread of infection. We will not accept a child into nursery who is running a temperature. When the cause of illness is sickness or diarrhoea we ask that you child stays away for 48hrs after the last bout of illness. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund any fees due to your child being ill.

We are unable to refund fees for children absent through illness or holidays, as each place is reserved for each individual child.

Parents are charged for 51 weeks. We are closed for one week over Christmas. The nursery year is divided into 12 equal monthly payments. We are unable to refund fees for children absent through illness, holidays or emergency/extreme weather closure.

Deposits are refunded within a month of your child’s last day at nursery.
